Anthony
Marion Salerno was born to Frank and Teresa Salerno on
February 22, 1909. He operated the family farm in El Moro,
was drafted during World Was II, and served in the Army
Air Corps as a sergeant. He trained as a radar specialist
and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the American
Theater Medal. After the war, Tony returned to Trinidad,
whereupon he continued to farm and cared for his parents.
Tony was well known and respected in the community. The
produce and hay he cultivated were in great demand because
of their high quality.
Although he never married, he held the love of all his
family. Tony died in 1972 and left behind the memory of
a generous, helping, and caring man. His life touched
and enhanced all those who knew him.
