Some Very Disappointing News

The Silver Spoon in Cuchara has closed!

One of our most favorite places to eat in the area has just recently closed its doors for good. Here is an email that I just received from the owners

Dear Friends and Family,

November 16th was our last day of operation at the Silver Spoon. This will be the third year in a row that the ski resort hasn't opened. We needed an exceptional summer to make it through this winter, and with the fires and drought, it was the worst we'd seen. We just can't keep getting into debt to make it through the winters. We've lowered our asking price for the restaurant and our home, and hope both will sell quickly. Adam is aggressively seeking employment in Colorado or Texas. We would love to stay here in the beautiful mountains, but there just isn't any work. We'll see what happens. It was an emotional decision, but inevitable! We had put alot of hard work into our dream, and it's sad that we just couldn't make it here. We made alot of good friends and have wonderful memories! At the same time, we're relieved, and ready to begin another adventure! We may put a cookbook together, and if so, we'll let you know. We have been unable to go back into production on our sauces, but are working on it. We will also inform you when it's again available. Thanks for all your years of support and encouragement!

We recently had customers from the Fort Lauderdale area who told us that they could eat out every night of the week and never eat at the same place twice for a year and the Silver Spoon was the best dining they have ever had. Adam and Jill are just incredible creative cooks. So you know of anyone looking for a great cook or if you wish to open a new restaurant of your own contact Adam. Plus if you are looking for one of the most romantic business locations that has the Cuchara River running on both sides this is an awesome building and will make a special place for someone. Adam and Jill also have a home for sale in Cuchara. Adam and Jill we are going to miss your "melt in your mouth" steaks with your special Blue Cheese Pepper Sauce!
