I am looking for information regarding my paternal grandparents: Paolo (born 1/13/1877) and Carmela Costa. I would like to know how to go about obtaining copies of their death certificates, as well as citizenship papers for Paolo.

Any assistance in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

My girlfriend Danette Williams mom was related to the costa family. The costa's Have a ranch down by stonewall. I have forward you request to her. if it is the same family maybe she can help you. un fortanutly Danettes mother Verna (Cartalli) passed away a few months ago. I am pretty sure there are still some elderly people at the ranch that may be able to help you. I am new to this web site and love it.

Hi Italian princess,
I found what I think is your grandfather draft registration cards. This is the info:

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 Recordinfo
about Paolo Costa
Name: Paolo Costa
City: Not Stated
County: Las Animas
State: Colorado
Birth Date: 16 Jan 1865
Race: White
Roll: 1561835
DraftBoard: 0
Age:43
FRD Trinidad Colorado
wife is Carmela Costa
Farmer
medium build, medium height
brown eyes, black hair,
signed his name so he could write
dated Sept 12,1918

and on the 1930 census, it states he was born in 1878, is married but no sign of a wife. He was a farmer on a ranch on Sonata(?). Children are: Frances, 23(daughter), Domenic, 16,John 14,Anna, 12, Anthony 10, and Joe 8.

Born in Italy and came here in 1900..do you have his manifest? If not, let me know and I will try to locate for you!

Hope this helps

The Costa's own a freight line here in Trinidad. It's Costa Lines Inc., 1 Santa Fe Yards, 719-846-6433. These might be your relatives.
