Edna Lou Dailing, age 70 of Aguilar, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born December 5, 1934 in Fort Supply, Oklahoma to Dean and Ella (Hurst) Bardin. She married George Dailing in Roswell, New Mexico in 1975. He preceded her in death in October, 2003.
Edna graduated high school in Woodward, Oklahoma and worked as an executive assistant for 18 years for Western State Hospital in Fort Supply, Oklahoma. She then went to work for the Social Security Administration from 1975 to 1989 in Roswell, NM then moved to Aguilar and went to work for Social Security in Trinidad until her retirement at age 65 in 1999. After one year of retirement, she went back to work for the department for two years, retired and was considering going back to work again.
Edna was preceded in death by parents, and grandchild Jason Harrison. She is survived by daughters Cheryl (Dave) Harrison of Liberal, Kansas and Donna Dene Barton of Grapevine, Texas, grandchildren Annie (Conor) Maynard, Jennifer and Bryan Barton. She is also survived by niece, Nancy (Rick) Lloyd, nephew Junior (Leda) Dailing. Numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
Cremation was held and private family services will be held in Fort Supply, Oklahoma at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
