Sante fe trail

We bought land about 20 yrs ago from Faris Land and Cattle on the Sante Fe trail tract and being from the great lakes area and young did not think about water issues. We were wanting to maybe build there now horse property, It is 40 acres. Is this a feasible idea, how do we find out if there is water there to drill for a well?

My boyfriend bought 35 acres from Farris Land and Cattle last year. There are some people living on these tracts and we have talked to one who said they had to go about 700 feet to hit water. Another just has their water hauled. We spoke with Jan at Farris Land and Cattle who suggested we hire a water wicher. Jan has the names of some, so give her a call if you are interested in going that way.
