Thanks
jade05
Thanks for your input,TRINIDAD sounds
better everytime I get a new message.
you can take the girl out of new york BUT
you can never take the new york out of the girl! either people
like me for who Iam or they do not have to associate with me.I feel
being from newyork/california has already given me a a bad name. I
do not want to change anyone or anything. just looking to find some
genuine, honest, people and a nice town to raise my family in. I'll
check out school ratings (thanks):)

whytrinidad
When I moved to the midwest 8 years ago, I was living in the town of Glenwood IA population about 8000. Talk about culture shock. Stores were closed on Sunday and they have outdoor concerts in the park in summertime. Very idyllic. Needless to say I got some strange looks at first. I,m a fairly friendly guy by nature and got along quite well with everyone. Don't worry too much about fitting in. If you do end up moving to Trinidad, just take it easy. It takes a while to get used to the pace of life and to adjust to the way things get done.

I read your other post about being from the big city and moving to Trinidad. My family and I are moving to the Trinidad area in June as well. We are coming from Albuquerque, but originally from the Dallas Fort Worth area. I understand worrying about fitting in and if the people will like you and your big city ways. Having said that , I think there is something to be said for the small town lifestyle. I am of the opinion that my biggest problem will be not having a mall nearby. Good luck with your move, maybe we will run across each other this summer... I will be the one with the Texas accent lol

stephcam
thanks for your input also! this morning
at 4:06am in san diego, ca we had a 4.0
earth quake and a 2.6 after shock! lets just
say I am a very sound sleeper and the house
was rocking and rolling. thank god no damage
was done any where. the quake was only 9 miles
from the small community that my family and I
live in.I would take snow storms any day
over earth quakes. I also use to live upstate
ny, sometimes it would take me 1 hour to defrost
my car windows and clear the snow out of the drive
way. sounds REALLY stupid but I miss the snow!!!!
so we might be coming to trinidad sooner then I
thought, just one more earth quake and our
bags will be packed. just look for the new comer
with the new york accent loL!:D
