Pete,
In the "File" drop down menu in MS Word it shows the last 4 documents opened.
How can I double that number?
OS is WinXP SP2
Thank you.

Hey Al,
Open Word. At the top of your screen, click "Tools" then "Options". In the new screen, click "General". The 8th item down the list, called "Recently used file list", has a box that allows you to change the number to anything you like, up to a maximum of 9 documents. Hope this helps.

Thanks Fred! You can also make a registry adjustment to go beyond the preset limit of 9 but I won't post registry changes in this forum. You can contact me or I am sure Fred for more on that

Thanks Guys,
I thought it might take a registry change, but the cure for this aggravating problem was pretty simple as it turns out.
I'm sure many others will benefit from this forum.
Thanks again.:):)

Al, Thanks for asking the question. I am really looking forward to what this can offer everyone. We really have Charlie to thank for setting this up

You're welcome, Al. Glad it worked for you. And, yeah, my rule of thumb is, if the tweak you're after is available from within the program, it's best to stay out of the registry. Weird things can happen in there.
