Henry Charles "Chuck" Tamburelli, age 61, passed away on July 14, 2003 after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 23, 1941 to Andrew and Josephine Tamburelli in Trinidad, Colo. He learned to operate a bulldozer at the age of 14, building ponds and dams. Chuck had a natural love for his work. He enjoyed working with the land. He operated the machinery as if it were an extension of himself. He was a major operator and foreman in the construction of the Trinidad Dam. The variety of his work was extensive. He worked on the Trinidad Junior High, Southside Park, Kit Carson Bypass and other numerous road developments, as well as residential excavations. He also worked with the gas companies (Meridan, Amoco and Evergreen Resources, to name a few) in the area. Prior to Chuck's illness, he enjoyed the outdoors including hunting. Chuck owned and operated Chuck Tamburelli Construction. The business he started will be continued and operated by his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew and sisters, Charlotte Grosso and Gertrude Herlyck.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of the family home in Bon Carbo, mother, Josephine Tamburelli of Trinidad, sons, Brian (Renee) Tamburelli, Brent Andrew (Linda) Tamburelli of Trinidad, daughters, Bernadette (Vince) Stagray of Midland, TX, Denise Lynn Tamburelli of Trinidad, brother, Anthony (Jill) Tamburelli of Aguilar, sisters, JoAnn (Sam) Maniscalco of Trinidad, Charlene (Gerald) Baudino of Aguilar, Phyllis Lujan Tamburelli of Pueblo, Mary Grace (Robert) Tamburelli Wilson of Trinidad, grandchildren, Michael Stagray, Brittany Stagray, Nicole Tamburelli, Kristin Mason, Ryan Guiterrez, Andrew Tamburelli, Ashley Tamburelli, Brianna Tamburelli and numerous relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary Service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church with intombment to follow at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
