Miner Band Performs At Bronco Halftime

Does anyone remember the Miner Band halftime performance at the Bronco game before we went to the Cotton Bowl (1970)? Unfortunately, at that time I wasn't as much of a Bronco fan as I am now. However, I still enjoyed the game and being there to perform at the game.

Vicky, Do you have any pictures from back in these glory days? It would be neat if you could post some. Bet lots of folks look different!

I was a banner girl for the band at that time; the Bronco game was in the Fall of 1971; the Cotton Bowl Parade was January 1, 1972. It was cold and rainy in Dallas; everyone was freezing. I remember that everyone back in T-dad was very disappointed when watching the parade on TV: first, the commentators remarked that "this band sold bags of potatoes to get here", and then broke to commercials. The 1972 Miner yearbook and supplement have photos from the parade; I don't recall if there are any from the Bronco halftime. Also, the halftime performance was on TV--that was back in the day when they broadcast the halftime performances. I remember that relatives from all over the U.S. watched! It was quite an honor (and a lot of fun) to be able to participate.

USMorlan, I do have a large picture of the band in the Cotton Bowl Parade. I have the supplement to the 1972 yearbook as well. I will try to get some photos to you.

msl, I am going to have to look back at that supplement to the 72 yearbook to figure out who you are. It has been many years so I need to refresh my memory.
