Darn weather forecast! Changed again. I'm just going to prepare for the worst. Looks like 60ish and possible rain in the afternoon now. I'll wait two hours and check it again [8D]

Talked to the folks up at the lake and they said it is raining pretty much every afternoon and they expect it will be cool and damp that day but no rain till late in the day....bring antifreeze!

Yeah, I think like a boy scout: "always be prepared".

Me too. I have nearly froze half to death messing around up there and not having adequate stuff. Learned my lesson...WHEN YOU GO TO MONUMENT ANYTHING WILL HAPPEN [:0]
Pete & Wayne, we may have to use that fireplace at Monument. Hey, if its a total washout we can always reroute to my cabin north of Weston. When handed lemons, make lemonade!
My bet is that if the weather is really foul, they'll move the best parts (music, food, and beer) to the lodge.
DB, do hope the weather will change to sunshine for the fest for you and everyone. Sure could use some of that rain where I live.

Pete, and All,
I would certainly like to be there for the feastivities and meet a few of you, but can't. :( But don't worry I will keep the rain up here in the Northwest for the 23rd. Just make sure someone has a BC Stout for me. :D [8D]
Pete, I remember these replies from awhile back, so I will do what I do best. :)

It fell over a few years ago. I remember while in Boy Scouts we would row a boat out there and swim back to earn merit badges. I still haven't gotten used to that monument being gone. I miss the buffalo that used to roam the lake too.
I was told, but don't know it as fact, that it just toppled over, but I have also heard scuttle that it was a small earthquake. Maybe someone out there in the forum really knows.
I'm afraid I don't know what happened to the monument either, but you'all have a GREAT time this weekend. :D :D
