Al, how often do you get back to T'dad? We should plan a fishing trip. I fish pretty much year round - nothing stops me. It's in my blood; my dad took me fishing for the first time at 3 yrs old and been do'in it ever since.

Al, last year the ice didn't even get thick enough to walk on. I'm hoping this year will be better. I know lots of good spots and trick to get big ones so let me know when you can come HOME. :)

That last pic is at Cuchara Creek up near Blue Lake on the north side of Cuchara Pass. That is a beautiful valley. I like going up there off-season when the tourists are gone.
Hey; how about a MOJO BRO ice fishing trip this winter? Ice fishing at North Lake rocks! Don't sweat it, Al - that ice fishing shack has a heater and holes in the floor to fish through. I know you've gone soft living down south but we'll toughen you up again. The rest of us will fish outside and make fun of you. ;)

DB if only the ice gets solid this year...I am in whenever you like. In the 70's we used to go to North Lake and SNAG for Kokanee Salmon when they would spawn in Oct or so. I am told it is no longer done but man that used to be fun...best fish I ever caught was at North Lake through the ICE!

DB, those fishing pics are cool but your right I have gotten soft living in the city. Don't think I could hang unless there was plenty of that Stout around.
I fished Blue and Bear lake all the time back in the day. I spent a summer living in Cuchara with my buddy Ortis Fuller Adams III, god rest his soul.
Went ice fishing a couple of times froze my Bola's off.:)

DB, the ice fishing pictures are cool. Now on the 2nd picture, what is on your face? Is it something to keep your face from freezing? The other two pictures are also very nice. It is just so pretty out there. . . .
Ski goggles and a scarf.
The topic of ice fishing reminds me of a story my uncle once told me when I was a little kid.
He says "Do you know how to catch an elephant?"
I say "No".
He says "Well, you cut a hole in the ice and spread peas around the hole. Then when an elephant comes to take a pea, you kick him in the ice hole. Then take a pair of binaculars and look through the wrong end at the elephant. Take a pair of tweezers and pick up the elephant and put him in a jar and quickly close the lid."
What a character he was!
AHA DB ! So that's where you gits your silly sense of humor !
