RR-GUY,Have you tried "Ask Jeeves"?
Char
In F. Dean Sneed's book, Las Animas County Ghost Towns and Mining Camps, Mr. Sneed's captions on many of his illustrations credit "Family Album Photographers", Trinidad.
Does anyone know of this photography group, or where these photos might be archived?
"Google" search doesn't come up with anything.
Thank you for any information. :)

Char, Thanks, but I'm afraid "Jeeves" doesn't know either, and I've even tried DB's "secret search weapon", "Windows Live" search engine with no luck. But, I certainly appreciate the suggestion. :)
The caption suggest to me that the photo's he used just might be from Albums which belonged to Family's, and they let him use the photo's for his book. A lot of familys did take photos when it was the new thing out, smae as we do today. I have glass negatives which belonged to one of my husbands great-grand parents. Just a thought. :D

RR, you may have already seen this but this is the only album collections that I could find that Snead may have possibly used:

I'm looking through the City Directories to see if I can find any listing for "Family Album Photographers" but have not found anything, but I'm still looking in other places. I'll post if I find anything.

My mentor, neighbor and friend, and who always seems to be able to fill in the gaps for me, has informed me that "The Family Album Photographers" are probably photos taken by Mr. Vic Macaluso, a local photographer.
I think you can contact him at Trinidad State Junior College. (719-846-5011).
Thanks ( E.R. ) again !
