Mary Ann Hammond, 62, died February 13, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born October 9, 1944 to Don and Naomi Pinson.
She had lived in the Trinidad and Aguilar area for 10 years moving here from Denver, Colorado. She attended the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. She took off twenty years of study before she returned to Metro State in Denver to finish her Bachelors degree and then earned her Masters degree in Agency Counseling from the University of Colorado at Denver. After graduation she went to work for Presbyterian St. Luke's in Denver. Wanting to live in a smaller community she moved to Southern Colorado and worked for Spanish Peaks Mental Health, Crossroads and eventually opened her own counseling business called "The Place Because Its Time".
She is survived by her son David Hammond and his wife Christa of Denver. As per her request cremation was held and there will be no public services.
The family has entrusted Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements.
