I was wondering if anyone could help me with the lineage of my great great grandfather Jose de Gracia Cordova. Born 1848, married Tiburcia Hurtado jan 7 1869, and died about 1922. I know Gloria has a lot of information on the Cordova family, so maybe she can help. Thank you for your help in advance.

LEO CORDOVA (b. 1908) says that his grandfather, JOSE DE GRACIA CORDOVA referred to the Miguel Cordova family as Primo Hermanos.

Torres, p. 355. Note that Jose Gracia Cordua and Ma. Teburcia Urtado were padrinos when Emanuelum Trujillo, s/o Tomas, m. Maria Urtado (d/o Joanni Andri Urtado) on 30 Sep 1872 (Holy Trinity marriages, Vol. 1, p. 59). This shows a close relationship of these families.
Torres, p. 355. MARRIAGE: Jose de Gracia is probably the son of Pedro Cordova IF the marriage entry found in Holy Trinity, Vol. 1, p. 20 is the marriage entry of this Jose de Gracia. On 7 Jan 1869, Jose de Gracia Cordova married D. Hurtado (D and T as spoken in Spanish sound similar, especially if the priest was from the Netherlands, Rev. John Paul Munnecom.) The priest probably interpreted TEBURCIA as" Dibercia" and only wrote the first initial of her name. Another fact that leads one to believe that this entry is correct is that their first child was born one year later.
Torres, p. 355. Jose de Gracia and Tebrucia were padrinos when JOSE MIGUEL CORDOVA and AQUEDA TRUJILLO baptized ZEFERINO. Also when Manuel Sena and Paz Baca baptized Lucinda.
Shows possible close relationship of Jose de Gracia Cordova and Miguel Cordova of the
family of Paul Cordova.
ALICE Chatwin tells me that her research indicates that Pedro is Jose de Gracia's father.

The Jose de Gracia Cordova that married Maria Tiburica Hurtado in Trinidad was born march 19 1848 was Batz march 1848 From the church records of Picuris Taos NM his father was Pedro Antiono Cordova and Maria Dalores Montoya. These reocrds are found on his Marriage and on the Death record of Jose De Gracia. However there is a Jose De Gracia Cordova born in the same place and found in the same church but his father was Rumaldo Cordova and Maria Felipa Ortega He was born in 1849. Juan Salvador Cordova was Jose De Gracia Half bother. I hope this helps anyone who is looking into these lines.

I may be confused about the "Pedro Antonio Cordova" entries in my database, but I have the Pedro Antonio Cordova (d.1811), who is married to Emerencia Fresquez, as the father of Pedro Antonio (b.1797), who is married to Ignacia Martin, who is the father of Pedro Antonio (b.Jul & d.Aug 1842).
Do you have these other Pedro Antonio's in your records, and if so, can you help me clarify where my error may be, if your data entry shared here is accurate? I've noticed the discrepancy before and had just not addressed it, knowing that I need to fix it if it is wrong in my database or bring it to your attention if perhaps what you have is incorrect.
Looking forward to your help and that of anyone else who may have these related records in their history-research.

Gloria, Most of my entries for these Cordova people are from Santa Cruz de la Canada Baptisims and marriage book! I don't have another Pedro Antonio Cordova for the family of Pedro Antonio and Maria Ignacia Martin, some of there children were baptized in San Lorenzo de Picuris Baptisms from the book by Betty Pacheco. Juan Salvador Cordova or as he wen't by "Salvador", was married to Maria de la Cruz Vigil, they had a son named Pedro Antonio Cordova, he was married to Maria Nestora Montoya!
Do you have another Pedro Antonio Cordova D. 1842 who was the child of Pedro and Ignacia Martin-Cordova? I have other Pedro Antonio Cordova's in my data base but are not with these parents of my Pedro I and Pedro II. Please let me know what you have on this and I will check what I have!

Frank, Jose's parent's are Pedro Antonio Cordova II and Maria Dolores Montoya. As I stated in the response Pedro Antonio Cordova II was married twice, first Marriage was to Ignacia Martin and the second was to Maria Dolores Montoya. I know this is real confusing with all the Pedro Antonio Cordova's. So, This Pedro Antonio Cordova II is the son of Pedro Antonio Cordova I and Maria Fresquis.
There are so many Pedro Antonio Cordova's that are related to different Cordova lines, this is the right line that is stated here!
