I would like to find out where I can view the newspaper from the Trinidad area during 1885. Is it on microfilm? If so where would it be available?

Trinidad's paper only goes from 1873-1880

The only other places I can think of is Denver Public Library and Carnegie Public Library (719-846-6841).

Try this website. Hit search & scroll down to the "Trinidad Enterprise". It has articles from the 1880's. It might help...Happy hunting.

Diane1951 - That website only goes to 1880 for Trinidad Enterprise. I need to look at 1885, possibly 1884.

Many thanks to Alice who has provided me with a list of Trinidad newspapers on microfilm at Carnegie Library. If you wish to have someone at the library do a look-up, you can contact the library and pay $7.50 an hour. All of the money generated from that goes back into the history room for supplies.

You could call the Denver Library to see if they have them. First, call Colorado State Historical Society in Denver, there is a chance they may have them.
