rain water

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me if you can legally catch rain water in Colorado. I heard you couldn't .We don't have running water on are property and was looking for info on water. Iv'e seen people with water tanks in the back of their trucks. So I guess I to will be hauling water when I relocate to Trinidad. Our property is up on the mountian and as of now there are no utilities,water etc. Any info would be apperciated.
