Going Phishing and you are the Fish!

Hello Everyone,
Thought I would post a little about Phishing. Phishing can be conducted in many ways and today I am going to talk about the most common method and that is via email. What is Phishing...that is someone fraudulently representing themselves as someone credible and trustworthy who will email you and ask for your password and personal info. They will say they are from places like Yahoo...thanks Char...Hotmail, Gmail and any other mail you can think of and that they need you to validate your account to keep it open!!! Do NOT fall for these attempts to steal your info. NO I repeat NO reputable business online will email you and ask you to provide them with your password. They even come as though they are the FBI...or Secret Service...these are the next generation of Nigerian Type Scam artists. Remember that one as it still goes around...I am in Nigeria and I am dying or I am the lawyer of or wife a zillionare and we need you to help us get his money...etc...KNOW THAT THESE ARE MALICIOUS MAILS. Many places like hotmail and PayPal have entire departments devoted to stopping these...Ppal if you get a suspicious mail you can forward to them at spoof@paypal.com . Hope this helps and remember that if it sounds to good to be true...it is!

These types of phishing mails exist in the fake name of most any company online you can think of! Don't use the links in emails to suspicious sites...open a browser window and go there by typing in the address out fully. This will make sure you end up at the true site of where you want to go.
