Father of Diego Gallegos, Md at Trinidad, CO

I found a marriage in the Trinidad Marriages book by Dr. Torres and it shows: 13 Jan 1873, Diegum Gallegos s/o Wilhelmi Gallegos; m. Joannam Nep Valdes d/o Bartolomei Valdes. I know that this is the marriage for Diego Gallegos and Juana Valdes when you de-latinize the names but who is Diego's father? Wilhelmi doesn't make sense. Could the name be a German Priest's/Latin interpretation for Julian? Any help would be appreciated.

Received the following message from GiGi:

"'the Diego Gallegos message" if William was used for "Julian"................

Yes, I have run across that situation when doing work on my Henry's Wheaton's & Grant's work.

The Spanish use 'Julian' for 'William' & then of course the name 'Guillermo' for 'William'."
