Ron Singer, 21, of Alamosa, is one of the survivors of this week’s attack by a grizzly bear in a campground near Yellowstone National Park. Singer and his girlfriend were reportedly on vacation when he was attacked by a female grizzly that was later captured in addition to some of her cubs. Fortunately singer did not suffer extensive wounds, so he was able to receive treatment and continue his vacation. The attacks began about 2am Wednesday morning and involved several victims. Two other vacationers were not as fortunate. One from Grand Rapids, Michigan, was drug 25 feet out of his tent where his body was found. Another victim from London, Ontario, only escaped death by ultimately playing dead. The bear believed to be responsible for the rampage is a 300- to 400-pound sow. Officials said the bear would be put down if DNA evidence confirms it was the same one that attacked the victims. DNA test results are expected today.
