Gerald Frank Bila, 70, passed away Sept. 21, 2010. He was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Bee, Neb., to Joseph Bila and Emma Swoboda.

He attended schools in Bee; he then joined the Air Force where he worked on B-52’s and F-4 Phantom Jets. After the Air Force, he worked for McDonald Douglas. After that, he worked in various mechanic and construction jobs during his career. He loved working with wood, stained glass, puzzles, and was an avid die cast car collector.

He was preceded in death by his first wife MaryAnn in 2002 and then met his second wife Sherrill. They were married March 1, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

He was survived by his wife Sherrill Murnane-Bila, Trinidad, sons Wendell (Pam) Bila, Seattle, Aubrey Bila, Rochester, N.Y., Scott (Patty) Bila, San Antonio, Texas, Lionel (Veronica) Bila, Colorado Springs, Alex, (Tina) Bila, Texas, Justin (Kim), Florence; daughters Holly (Darrall) Parsons, Fountain, Toy (Andy) Morris, N.C.; stepsons John (Terri) Murnane, Trinidad, Rick (Techi) Murnane, California. He had 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Fisher’s Peak Community Church at 2 p.m.

The family has entrusted Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements.
