Patricia M. Avila, of Aguilar, passed away March 4, 2011, at Triumph Hospital in Aurora after a brief illness. She was 54. She was born in Trinidad April 7, 1956 to Mary (Teran) and Pete Quintero Sr.
Patricia attended Aguilar schools. On April 3, 1971, she was united in marriage to Leo A. Avila at the K.P. Hall in Aguilar.
She was a beautician and barber and previously owned her own business, the Mane Attraction in Walsenburg.
She then was employed as Patient Advocate and Med Sur Technician at Mt. San Rafael Hospital until her retirement.
She enjoyed going to Cripple Creek and having coffee with her friends. Her greatest joy was being Grandma Patty to her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is son Joseph Avila, mother Mary Quintero and grandparents Trino and Cora Quintero.
Survivors are husband Leo Avila of home address, Aguilar, son Leo David (Shannon) Avila, Thornton, daughter Roberta Lee (Ben) McGee, Parker, grandchildren, Katelyn and Justin Avila, Hallie, Maggie and Caleb McGee, father Pete Quintero Sr. Aguilar, siblings Pete Quintero, Aguilar, Monty Quintero, Aguilar, Christine (Ernie) Castillo, Raton, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Manuel Avila, Pueblo, Alice (Manuel) Montoya, Denver, Rose Avila, Aguilar numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 11, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Comi Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Nelson officiating.
Private inurnment at a later date.
Immediately following the services, friends are invited to gather with the family at Aguilar Community Center.
