Gerald Owen Qualls, age 56, passed away on July 13, 2003. He was born on August 21, 1946 to Ben and Arla Qualls in Wheatland, WY. Jerry attended school in Northplatte, NE. He received his diploma while in Charleston, WV, and continued his education through Iowa Valley Community College and throughout his life. He was married to Jacqueline Rae Luellman in 1969 in Omaha, NE. Jerry worked for Paramount Paper, GT Barber Pharmacy and Watkins Concrete as a driver. He also worked on a farm in Boone, Iowa, then moved to Brooklyn, Iowa to work in a lumber yard. His next move was to Grinwell, Iowa where he worked at a glass company and lumber yard as a driver. Jerry worked for 14 years at Wolverine/CertainTeed Corporation and finally moved to Trinidad in 1999. While in Trinidad, he worked for Northwestern Logistics as a driver, Scott Canda as a driver, and on Bud Healey's ranch. He was an all-around handy man.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He was a kind, loving family man. His hobbies included carpentry, electronics and computers.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-father, Clive Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline of the family home, mother, Arla Miller of North Platte, NE, children, Gerald Owen (Patty) Qualls, Jr. of Iowa, Mashelle Renee Qualls of South Dakota, brother, Melburn (Jan) Qualls of Wyoming, sister, Barbara (Don) Frels of Nebraska and grandchild, Shylean Albee.
Memorial Service to be held on Thursday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m at the First Baptist Church with a luncheon to follow the service at the church.
The family of Gerald Qualls has entrusted the arrangements to the Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home.
