Finis Dale McDonald, 75, of Folsom, N.M., passed away Monday April 25, 2011, in Walsenburg.
He was born May 8, 1935, in Trinidad, the son of Finis and Gertrude Kane-McDonald. Dale was a veteran of the United States Navy, had owned and operated the Spur Lounge and the DND Muffler Shop for many years, and was a Horse Rancher.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, and grandson Riley Newkirk.
He is survived by his daughter Punkie Birch of Grants Pass, Ore. Two sons, David McDonald and wife Deborah of Folsom and Bill McDonald and wife Natali of Bakersfield, Calif., one sister Charlene Spencer of Raton and one brother Ronald McDonald and wife Shirley of Beloit, Kan., nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorial services was Monday May 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Yaksich Long Funeral Home with Eric Armstrong officiating. A gathering for dinner and friendship followed at the home of Charlene Spencer at 1216 Brilliant St. in Raton, N.M.
