John “Marvin” Maldonado, 52, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

He was born Jan. 21, 1960, to Dolores Maldonado. Marvin loved Trinidad and the people of the city. He made friends with nearly everyone he met.

He loved fishing, spending time outdoors and listening to the music of John Lennon and his beloved Rolling Stones.

Marvin was an avid storyteller and loved spending time with family and friends He will be loved and missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Dolores Maldonado; his niece, Kimberly N. Trujillo; and his stepdaughter, Desiree Thomas.

Marvin is survived by his loving mother; his brother, Robert (Gwen) Sanchez; his daughters, Vanessa, Valerie and Victoria Maldonado; his son, John David Maldonado; his wife, Kathryn Maldonado; his stepchildren, Tiffany Orantes and Ian Thomas; his nieces, Angel Sheila Trujillo (Nicole and Alexis); his grandchildren, Francisco and Cheyenne Marquez, Cecily Vialpando, Marisa Maldonado, Mary and Marcus Tafoya, Emilia DeHerrera and Andrea Archuleta; and numerous other family members and friends.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7 at Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home, with whom the Maldonado family has entrusted arrangements.
