Isabel Baca died Sunday, June 10, 2012, her 93rd birthday, at Trinidad Inn Nursing Home.
She was born June 10, 1919, in Starkville to Maria Sinforiana (Sandoval) Baca and Jose Manuel Baca.
Isabel was a dedicated mother and a sales associate at a number of department and variety stores. She enjoyed reading, working crosswords puzzles, solving cryptograms, watching All My Children and, above all else, spending time with her extended family, which she called “a clan unto our own.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, her siblings’ spouses, and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Isabel is survived by her daughter, Carmen Rita Ruselowski, and her grandchildren: Paula (Wilbert) Garcia; Patricia (John) Rooney; Patrick (Mayumi) Fernandez; Jason (Selina) Fernandez; Eric (Kristal) Trujillo; and Dennis (Margarita) Ruselowski Jr.
She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Daniel (Sorelle) Garcia, Jessica Macias; Rebecca (Joseph) Williams, Tabitha Rooney, Nicholas Rooney, John Fernandez, Luke Fernandez, Justice Fernandez, Ryanna Rangel, Alexis Fernandez, Isaac Fernandez, Bianca Fernandez, Arianna Lynn, Isabella Lynn, Kaitlynn Verelli, Alyssa Verelli and Violet Ruselowski.
Isabel’s great great grandchildren are Jayden Garcia, Amayah Garcia, Alivia Garcia, Katrina Macias, Isabel Macias, Dominic Macias, Adrianna Macias, Amaris Macias, Persaius Williams, Ilysah Rangel, Jocelyn Rangel and Jeremiah Verelli.
She is also survived by numerous cousins and her special nieces and nephews, the children of her siblings Helen, Rose, Eugene, Eloy, Lauro and Tano.
Visitation was 2-7 p.m. Thursday followed by a recitation of the Catholic rosary at Comi Funeral Home.
A Friday, June 15, funeral service will begin with a 9:45 a.m. eulogy followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and interment at Starkville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Isabel’s grandsons and great grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Lee Gonzales, Jerry Cardenas, Rick Santellana, Leroy Valdez, Pete Chavez, Michael Baca, Tom Nigh, Raymond Baca and Joseph Baca.
The Baca family offers a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff at Trinidad Inn Nursing Home.
