James Joseph Payne, 28, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Minot, N.D., as a result of a motorcycle accident.
James was born Dec. 10, 1983, in Mobile, Ala., to Deborah and Kevin Treat.
He graduated from Trinidad High School in 2002. During his high school days, he participated in various activities and was a skilled football player. He was named an all-state and all-conference player.
James was an avid outdoor adventurer and enjoyed spending time in the mountains and with his friends and family, especially his son, Dareyan, who he loved and adored more than anything.
He was a veteran oil worker was dedicated to anything he set his mind to. He lived life to its fullest each day and will be greatly missed by those familiar with his captivating personality.
James is survived by his family in Trinidad: his son, Dareyan James Payne; his stepdaughter, Tamara Samora; his parents, Deborah and Kevin Treat; and his brother, Terry (Jamie) Payne.
He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Wilhelm and Renee Lampley, of Pensacola, Fla.; his nieces and nephews: Lance, Ashley, Daniel, Denver, Cody, Kari Ann and Hunter; and numerous friends and other relatives.
A funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at First Christian Church with Pastor Cary Nelson officiating.
Private inurnment will follow at a later date.
Friends are invited to gather with James’s family immediately following the service at First Christian Church Hall.
