Clarence Leroy Tombling

Born September 18, 1892, to George and Lillian Tombling. (Old) Rouse, Colorado.  He married Effie May Laurie in April 1921.  Effie lived many years at the State Nursing Home in Trinidad.  She died there on May 7, 1988.

Clarence became a watchmaker and engraver, working several years at the Baur Jewelry Co. in Trinidad, then with Johnston’s Jewelery.  He and Effie later moved to Gunnison, Colorado to open Tombling Jewelry Store.  Clarence spliced the cable for the first ski lift in Crested Butte, CO.
