Internet Access

Are there any services in Trinidad that offer internet access to the public?? ie Internet cafe??

There are actually a couple of spots....try McDonalds. Mr. Phelen has a good setup there. Try the Welcome Center...try the park near city hall...

The library on Animas Street offers computer and internet use.

Finally got my phone line today. It runs across two roads as a temporary line, but maybe it will not get cut till they bury it. Anyway, I have been using wireless at the Quality Inn by Wal-Mart. You can sit by their indoor pool and look at the mountains as you surf.

Guess what! Dial up is not as bad as I remembered. Not like high speed, but not terrible. Better than no internet!

A little bird told me there may be a Verizon upgrade coming to the Trinidad area. Don't hold your breath, but this could mean mobile wireless high speed CDMA available within a year or so if it gets FCC approval and all goes well.

DB I have heard this too. I figure at the pace of things it will be at least a year away though and that if all goes just right! Good to see you post!
