Gerald F. Butler, age 74, died September 6, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born April 6, 1932 in New York, New York to John and Lillian (Gustafson) Butler. He married Laura Ramirez in 1963 in Raton, New Mexico.
He graduated from high school in upstate New York. He joined the army out of high school and transferred to the navy. While in the navy he worked on experimental submarines. After the military he went back to New York and became a mail carrier and also worked as a cowboy part time. His love of the outdoors brought him to Colorado where he worked for different ranches and he met his first love Laura Ramirez. He moved to Colorado Springs and worked at the Air Force Academy and also had a radio show in Denver. He then moved to Montana and worked at the Yellow Tail Dam and retired as a manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his cousin Marian Craig and caretaker Kathy Brown.
Funeral service was Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and burial followed at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
The family entrusted Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements.
