F. D. Wight/E. D. Wight
I am new to the Forum. I am looking for information on F. D. Wight and or E. D. Wight. I understand that at one time they were involved in The First National Bank of Trinidad. I would think that they would have resided in Trinidad. Thank you for any information. GlennD

Dear Dodie, Thank you so much for this information. I have found two checks that FDW wrote from the 1st National Bank. Also, I have a Bank bag (leather) that lists EDW as President. Thank you again. Regards, GlennD

Glenn,
According to 1880 Census of Las Animas County, Edward D. Wight, aged 19, lived with his uncle, G. D. Wight and his family. G. D. was listed as a banker.
Edward and his family purchased the house on 1919 Pinon (the house number keeps changing) in 1905. It was built in 1889 for D.W. McCormick.
According to the Chronicle News of December 4, 1916, Edward's first wife, Mary, died that same day. (Info from Masonic cemetery is wrong. Tombstone says 1916) She was born in Trinidad. Her parents, Augusta and E. F. Mitchell came to Trinidad in 1862.
It looks like Edward married his sister-in-law, Clara E. Mitchell in January of 1919. I don't know what happened to Clara, but Edward D. Wight marries Jennie Eva Dye on December 30, 1923. Edward passed away May 16, 1931.
I became interested because the house on Pinon is listed for sale. It is presently under contract.
I do not know if this is someone in your family tree, but I would be happy to send you copies of the obits, photos, marriages etc.

Dear Jamie, Yes, I would appreciate any information that you can provide. I have received some information from another member. Just for my knowledge, what is the asking price of the house, that is, if that is not privleged information. Thank you for posting the picture of the house. Best Regards, Glenn

Glenn,
My goodness - I sure made mess with the photo!
The house is on the market for $185,000.00.
I would be happy to send you the info that I have. I will need an address.
Just wondering, are you related to the Wights?
