Some info I found on the Tarabino family:
Giovanni (John) was one of six brothers who emigrated to the US from Piedmont in northern Italy. Four remained, Bernardino, Giovani, Luigi and Pietro. John traveled through southern Colorado in 1883, moved to California and the west coast and then to South America exploring business opportunites. He returned to southern Colorado within two years and started a mercantile in the mining community of Engleville. A few years later he and Bernardino began another in Walsenburg. They owned the famous department store on main street. Pietro and his son Joseph owned the Golden Crown Macaroni Factory. The Tarabino Dry Goods on Commercial street was operated by Luigi's daughters.

(Historical Calendar Dec. 2001)
John Tarabino was a witness at my grandfather Pietro Scarafiotti's naturalization on Oct. 31, 1904 in Trinidad (many thank to you). If you are a Tarabino relative, I have a photo of the family store in Engleville taken around 1902, before CF&I bought him out. I would be more than happy to scan it and send to any Tarabino relative.
Pscaraf, I would very much like for you to scan and upload the picture of the Tarabino store in Engleville to this thread so that we all can enjoy it.
I just happened to login and saw the request, I will upload the Tarabino store photo this weekend
