Elvera “Vera” Cantoria, 98, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at Trinidad Inn Nursing Home with her beloved family by her side.

She was born Sept. 7, 1913, in Trinidad to Anna Erminia (Jachetta) and Michele B. Bosso. She graduated from Hoehne High School in 1932 and was united in marriage to Frank P. Cantoria on Dec. 31, 1936.

Of her many jobs, Vera’s greatest passions were working her family’s farm and gardening. She served as head cook at Hoehne School for 21 years.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her daughter, Michela; her stepmother Mary G. Bosso; her brothers Charlie (Dorothy) Bosso and Alfred (Edith) Bosso; her sister, Mary Bosso; her stepsisters Nellie Iuppa and Emma Garber; and numerous other relatives.

She is survived by her son, Frank (Jetta) Cantoria, of Trinidad; her grandchildren, Frankie (Karen) Cantoria of Trinidad, Terry (Geir) Jensen of Wyoming and Lori Cantoria of Pueblo.

Vera also is survived by six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service will begin with a rosary recitation at 9:15 a.m. Monday, April 2, at Comi Chapel followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church and inurnment at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
